Luke Rector (Draughn, Gardner-Webb football)

Luke Rector has started for the Runnin’ Bulldogs on the offensive line in all four games this season as a redshirt junior, including a start at the center position in a road matchup with nationally-ranked Georgia Tech.

Gardner-Webb is currently averaging 30 points per game, 190 rushing yards, and 442 total offensive yards.

They will be opening Big South Conference play hosting Charleston Southern on October 4th.

John Robert Abernathy (Draughn, UW-Oshkosh football)

John Robert Abernathy started this season at a new school after previously punting for Guilford College.

His 12 total punts for the Titans averaged 37.6 yards in three games, with his longest punt of 48 yards coming against Roosevelt.

Brady Bostain (East Burke, Lenoir-Rhyne football)

Brady Bostain has started in three games (offensive guard vs Tusculum, defensive line vs Emory & Henry and Carson-Newman).

In the win over Tusculum, the Bears racked up 428 total offensive yards.

Bostain only made one tackle in a home win over Emory & Henry.

Alexis Diaz, Yadira Castrejon (Draughn, Sweet Briar College women’s soccer)

Alexis Diaz is leading Sweet Briar College with five goals scored to kick off her junior season, adding three assists to tie for first in total points (13).

Fellow former Lady Wildcat Yadira Castrejon is starting off her sophomore season scoring two goals and having one assist for five points.

Serenity Powell (East Burke, Salem College women’s soccer)

Serenity Powell has started off her senior soccer season at Salem College playing in four games (one start) for 211 total minutes.

Lyrical Edwards (Draughn, Caldwell CC volleyball)

Lyrical Edwards has played in 15 matches throughout her freshman season at Caldwell Community College, including a recent tri-match last Saturday at Patrick & Henry Community College combining for 22 kills and four serving aces.

Edwards currently ranks third for service aces (37) in the NJCAA Division 3 Region 10 and ranks in the top ten in kills (155, 8th), points (198.5, 8th), and total attacks (426, 9th).

Other stats for Edwards include 131 digs, 13 blocks, and 8 assists.

Addy Fortenberry (East Burke, Averett volleyball)

Addy Fortenberry has played in four matches throughout her freshman season at Averett University and ranks second on the team in assists (61), with a season-high 22 vs Bob Jones University.

Other stats for Fortenberry include 17 digs, 3 aces, and 2 kills.
